Miss Milly-Tant
Miss Milly-Tant started life as a 6 wheel drive chassis cab for the British Army and was first used as a general cargo truck with the Army Registration Number 36BM73.
Late in 1983 Milly was spotted by Andy Lambert the founder of (and at that time MD of) The National Rescue Group. He decided to purchase her, to operate from their newly opened Brooklands Depot at Weybridge.
Milly now lives, retired and happy at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge where she can often be found winching huge pieces of concrete left over from the war out of the ground, carrying bombs around the site and tree surgery.

Turbo Dispatch Promotional Video - Featuring Ernest Smith (Formerly Of National Breakdown Fame)
This is the famous video (filmed in the Brooklands Control Tower), that was shown on the MTS stand at AVROEX 1990. I am afraid the sound has not aged as well as some of the precipitants.
It is posted in memory of the great man, who did so much for the industry. When I told him I was doing a quick advert for MTS, he travelled all the way to Brooklands just to take part. He was a Gentleman and most of all a Friend. This act was so typical of the man and we miss him.
Vehicle Recovery, Roll Over & Accident Back In 1988.
Back in 1988 in the early hours a fully loaded Tesco Artic and Trailer left the road, on the A283 (west of Stenying) in Sussex. National Rescue were called to recover it.
First it had to be empted and then 'low pressure' Air Bags were employed to lift past the critical roll angle. Then the main road was finally shut, to allow a safe roll over. Lastly, a short winched assisted exit from the field, allowed the road to be opened. Note the incredible four wheel drive Bedford CF support vehicle. the Author would love to know, if it survives somewhere.
